Canine Good Citizen Award™ Program
Want to take your dog's training to the next level?
The Delta Institute Canine Good Citizen (CGC™) Award is the ultimate course to give you the skills to train your dog to become a well behaved member of your community.
The CGC™ program will help strengthen the bond with your dog and teach better communication skills and as a result, your dog will become more confident and comfortable in a variety of everyday situations both at home and in public.
Objectives of the award
The long term objective is to enable the Delta Institute to influence where people are able to go with their dogs such as travelling on public transport, accommodation etc. We would also hope that local councils may give registration discounts to owners who have achieved the award.
You will be assessed on 14 separate exercises in order to gain the CGC qualification. A summary of these can be found here
Who can conduct the award?
Exercises in the award may be assessed by a Delta Institute Accredited CGC™ Award trainer during any dog training they provide whether it be group or private training.
It can only be offered by currently accredited Delta Institute professional members who have undertaken the necessary training to conduct the Award.
How do I sign up for the CGC™ Program?
